Brit-pop is GREAT!
Went to a (very HOT!) friends party on the weekend. She's off to the UK, so we had fun playing lots and lots of brit-pop.
Could it be possibly the 3rd BEST type of music??

BUT- I don't dig Radiohead or The Verve.
I just don't get Radiohead. Don't see what the fuss is. (like Sonic Youth).
And Verve are shit.

how could you miss out supergrass and suede?
i couldn't pick which supergrass song to go with though cos they are all pretty damn fine.
but i'm with mr. bot on animal nitrate.
and radiohead have to be in there like them or not! they had one hell of an impact. yeah they get dreary too often but they sure can write a tune or two.
but i'm with you on the verve being shite but that song of theirs is all right i suppose.
you did happen to miss the anthemic song for the disenfranchised youth of modern television culture though.

pretty good band, had some great moments along the way with their two bass player attack but that song is a cracker.
that's my token entry on the brit pop list. i would have a hell a lot of blur in there cos i love them. and if we want to get pedantic there should be some XTC. they did brit pop when punk was the thing. and they are grate!
i reckon though we could talk for hours and find more and more brilliant examples.
i am quite fond of brit pop. it's one of the best music forms in the world. it makes me get up and dance and smile and sing. and you can't go past that can you!

I was thinking upon this today, and I would like to extend the 3rd greatest music group to "Indie-pop" (or music from 1990-1996)
But Radiohead are shite!
Except for "Loser" cos i saw a really good ....er.. "dancer" dance to it in ...uh....Mexico.
