Tally

After 17 days the tally looks like this:

Lebanese: 425 dead. The Majority civilians and possibly numerous more trapped under rubble.

Israelis: 52 dead. 18 of which are civilians.

BUT I’ve been advised “not to mention the war”.

So here’s another tally.

DVD collections of tv series introduced by me to the flat.

FAMILY GUY: Positive feedback. Everyone digs.

DEADWOOD: Popular with only London Girl and me.

SPACED: Positive feedback. Everyone digs.

21 JUMP ST: Unpopular. Only I dig.

FIRFLY: Semi-popular. Only London Girl and I sorta-dig.

AMERICAN DAD: Unpopular. Only I am willing to give it further chances.

So......
THIS Saturday is
definitely the Ben and Jerry festival. Going to be so much fun! Rock, free ice-cream, probably some beer, petting farm and rides. Then we’ll be going to a bbq that night.

The London “heatwave” continues to progress with temperatures just excess of 30 degrees. You would’ve thought it was summer or something?!

Proper air conditioning at work would make it bearable. The sweaty arse and y-fronts is getting pretty annoying.

Luckily I have an ice-cold bottle of white rum at home in the freezer. Cuba Libre’s are this seasons favourite cocktail.

I have a (true) anecdote written but I am afraid to post it here. I fear it’s too much for even YOU, my hardcore Diggsville readers. Top to top SIN-tilating and head-fucking.

It’s a great story, but like I said- I don’t think you’re up for it.

But shout out if you think you are……….

P-OUT

So far the body count after 10 days is 330 Lebanese and 34 Israelis plus thousands and thousands of civilian Lebanese displaced and basically fucked.

The Israelis have just distributed flyers telling civilians to quit southern Lebanon immediately, amid threats of a large-scale incursion.

Here are the reasons why this crisis has started.
Here are some discussions about the legalities of this war.
Here are some basic facts about the nation of Lebanon.

And here is where I got that RAD image by artists Steff Geissbuhler from.

Peace is truly on the OUT

So did we EVER do what the Beatles asked and actually, y'know, GIVE PEACE A FUCKING CHANCE??

Some days it's an embarrassment to be human.

Peeping Tom

This is an excerpt from HERE:

Patton and crew recently shot a video for the album's first single, "Mojo," with director Matt McDermitt (Backstreet Boys, Motion City Soundtrack). The star-studded clip features cameos by model Rachel Hunter, Nakamura, Mark Hoppus of Blink-182 and Patton's longtime friend, actor Danny Devito.

Patton's other projects have been put on the back burner, as he's currently focusing on the upcoming Peeping Tom dates. He says the Fantomas are on hold until next year and he's already "way behind" on work with his band, Tomahawk. Patton is also working on another project comprised of just him and Nakamura. "It's going to be like DMX for white people," he says.

"That's the concept. I think Dan wants me to bark like a dog."

Which leads me to these points:

POINT 1. Who'd a picked Danny Devito and Mike Patton to be "long time friends"?! Although the more I hear about Danny Devito- the more I find that he's a man with surprisingly impeccible and credible tastes!

POINT 2. Mike Patton and Dan The Automator one-on-one?!?! WOWSERS!! Mike P did probally my favourite track on Automators' Handsome Boys album, and the LOVAGE is the shit!

We're going to see Peeping Tom next monday night.

Night at the proms

While in the UK, we're always up for trying new things and taking advantage of where we are and what we can do. So when Ainslie asked last night over dinner if I wanted to go to the PROMS she was a little bit taken back by my flat out refussal.
When I asked her in a cynical (and probally really rude way) "why would I want to go?"

She replied that we could sing "Royal Britania", "God Save The Queen" and some other English traditional gospel songs that I forget. We get to wear silly hats and get drunk.

I can honestly see why Ains would want to go to this. She is a trained opera singer, comes from English lineage and likes to drink.

Where as I... well, I'm not that big on classical & don't like English gospel (from what I've heard). Also the United Nations have placed a BAN on my singing. I'm not even allowed to sing in the shower.

I despise "silly hats".

But I am also strongly anti-English Empire.
I think Scotland should be autonomous. Ditto Wales and North Ireland. I also believe Australia should throw off it's yoke of British rule and become a republic.

So despite actually having a LIKING to drink, THIS Johnny Foreigner will not be attending The Proms!
