Mead

I just remembered that I have a bottle of MEAD at home. Unopened.

Does anyone know whats the best way to drink it? (besides from out of a viking horn or the skull of your defeated foes).
Chilled? Room temperature?
And will it keep after opening? Do I have to refridgerate?

Bought this stuff at the Isle of Wight.

We have the odd bottle of spiced mead which we drink warm; by microwaving the amount we will drink for about 10-20 seconds (so it doesn't boil). It seems to keep pretty well in the pantry after opening; we only do small shots after dinner in winter so it takes awhile to go thru a bottle.

My local used to serve it 'warmed in a traditional Viking microwave' (goddam I loved that pub) - it'd come out hot as hell but cool down v quick in a glass. I'd recommend chucking it in a mug if you're the sipping sort.

Thanks for the advice guys.

But that all sounds a bit pansy...

I think I might just drink it from my viking horn while I crush my enemies and listen to the lamenation of their women...
