RIP John Hughes.

You made some great 80's films.

"I do have a test today, that wasn't bullshit. It's on European Socialism. I mean, really, what's the point? I'm not European. I don't plan on being European. So, who gives a crap if they're Socialists? They could be fascist anarchists, it still wouldn't change the fact that I don't own a car."

Words to live by.

Could that possibly be one of the most perfect films ever made?

I remember hiring it on video when i was 12 and watching it 3 times in one day.

I do like this Theoy http://www.cinematical.com/2009/07/14/is-ferris-bueller-a-figment-of-camerons-imagination/

Thats a very interesting theory! I hadn't heard of it before. Might have to require another viewing!

I think out of all of those films, Ferris holds up the most. His more serious films now come of as a bit dated and mellow-dramatic.
Although I haven't watched Pretty In Pink in awhile (but the soundtrack gets a bit of a spin!).
And there's some weird/dodgy stuff going on in 16 Candles.
Having said that, he knew how to write and make some funny and engaging films!

I did a double bill of Breakfast Club and Ferris - and breakfast is funnier, with more laughs except it also goes the other way with the pathos, bordering on melodramatic.
I think its a better movie than Ferris, but ferris is so enjoyable you can't fault it.
