Radiohead

I have not liked Radiohead for YEARS!!

However, just to lighten the old-man angst that seems to be a constant theme around here, I have VERY recently begun to ENJOY 2 of their songs.

They are "The Bends" and "Fake Plastic Trees" from the album "The Bends".
I added them to a playlist by random and it's not too bad. Dose not ROCK MY WORLD or anything- but I think thats the point of Radiohead. Pasty whiney Poms don't rock.

Who knows- I MIGHT give the whole album another try!

The Bends and OK Computer are probably the only Radiohead albums i can listen too without wanting to start eating glass. The rest of them can KISS MY ARSE!

I love the song 'Let Down' on OK Computer. But if I listen to it too often i want to start crying. Don't really like their new stuff (in the same sort of way that I don't like poking myself in the eye).

I have 2 of their albums kicking around. The afore mentioned "The Bends" and "Kid A"- which I've struggled to give a spin.
I'll see if I can dig up your recommendation Dee.
The ONLY other Radiohead song I like is the one they did for the Romeo + Juliet soundtrack.
I actually really enjoyed it.

So.... if Douglas, Dee and I don't like them.... WHY ARE THEY SO POPULAR???!!!!!!

WHO buys their stuff and WHY?!

Old men looking for music cred. To me Radiohead is not music you can actively listen to; you just sort of hear it when you are at a pub or party, and then its not to bad.

uhh its me you see...

i have all their albums, even the recently released one on the internet pay anything you want for it gig... i paid about $10 which is a real world fair price for a new CD in my book. it sucks (bar two tracks). but i love their music otherwise.

ok computer is probably their best work by the way Scott - douglas and dee are right ;>

PS: it isn't background music. it needs to be listened to quite loud and especially when you are feeling moody ;>

or don't you get moody any more old boy?????

As I was reading your comment Robin, "The Bends" happened to play on my play list (I have it on shuffle).

And yeah- of course I get moody, but I think when I get into a mood I like to listen to stuff that either makes happy or chilled or angry and riled up enough to do something to improve the mood. Like rant on the internet.

I do recall a few years back now and having heartbreak problems and listening to Ride. I normally ENJOY listening to them but on this occasion it was that whiny/British pop noise I was after. It was like taking pleasure in poking at an open wound.
