Unhappy Hipster

Even though I've had an extremely eventful last few months, I can't seem to be arsed to write about it.
Just briefly though:
# Xmas we saw the true face of ugly. Something so ugly that it should not be allowed to live, yet it's ugliness was so unique that it should be preserved.
# NYE was chilled
# Pre-wedding MADNESS!!!
# THE WEDDING.

You may have noticed above that I got married. The biggest event in my life. But instead of writing about that today I'm going to be lazy and lame and just post some links.

Unhappy Hipsters.

The things that once so defined him — shag carpeting, Room & Board sofas, monogamy — now suffocated him.

(more at the site).

Bored To Death

Created by Jonathan Ames, the series follows a writer based in Brooklyn who moonlights as an unlicensed private detective.

Could this be my new favourite tv show? Not sure, as I haven't watched it yet- but it sure checks some good points!

1. HBO- CHECK!
2. Raymond Chandler and Dashell Hammett references- CHECK!
3. Zach Galifianakis- CHECK!
3. Zach Galifianakis as a comic-book artist- CHECK!

We watched ep 1 of Bored to Death last night. It really is a story about you and Dougbot. If you lived in NY and drank more coffee than beer.
We laughed quite a bit, despite ourselves. And despite Jason Schwartzman, who'll never be forgiven for I <3 Huckabees (most irritating film, ever).
Schwartzman was actually ok.

Thankgod it's not the story of Scotty and I on our road trip to Vegas as penned by Ainslie. Not even HBO could air the sordid details.

I'll let her take it from here.

We finished the first season over the weekend, and it builds up into a really nice rhythm. Stay with it guys!
I surprisingly really enjoyed Ted Danson's performance the most.

The show COULD be about Doug and myself if I was a bit more self-doubting and Doug had more colonics!
